Pegas is from a show called
"Tekkaman, the Space Knight." In the story, the guy who turns into Tekkaman climbs into the giant-sized Pegas to go through his transformation. In other words, Pegas is to Tekkaman what a phone booth is to Clark Kent.

The Pegas Jumbo is incredible. It's like a demented fire hydrant: squat, heavy-looking, and powerful. (Are fire hydrants powerful? Whatever. You take the point.) Anyway, it's stuffed full of gimmicks, it shoots missiles out of each of its stubby finger-tips, and it comes with a pair of three-inch bad-guy vinyl dolls to destroy. And the face is like that of the Tin Woodsman on serious crack.

Check this out: you can even stuff the little vinyl of the pre-Tekkaman dude (packaged with the Jumbo, of course) between Pegas' legs and close him inside. I'll leave the Freudian analysis of this transformation for another day, but it's a great gimmick from a toy standpoint.

This jumbo was made by a little company called Nakajima. They're also famous for thir Jumbo-sized Tekkaman and the utterly insane Capsule Robo G.
