Hasami Jaguar is a half jaguar, half robot villian from the show Kamen Rider V3. That's about where the history I know ends. What I do know is that people either love this guy or hate him. The first time I ever saw him was in Giant Robot magazine. [ They did a story about Tom Franck and his collection back in 98; you can order the back issue for $6.00 here.] I fell in love instantly. Maybe it's because I'm a cat guy, maybe it's because he's got big pointy things on his head rather than ears, maybe I'm just a dork? Anyway, since that moment, I've been dying to get ahold of one. And thanks to Jason Park of Bullmark.com, I finally did.

Like the other Jumbo Villians, this guy is about 20" tall and made of vinyl. You could call him the Edward Scissor Hands of the Kikaiju world, because, well... he's got big honking scissors for hands! He's painted with a combo of airbrush spots and hand painted brush strokes, and his name is scratched into the bottom of his feet. Originally, he had whiskers, but they were essentially just fishing line attached by a drop of glue at one end. Due to this extreme fragility, they're missing from most Jaguars. Personally, I could care less about the whiskers -- just having this guy around is awesome. And stick him next to his partner in crime, Kame Bazooka, and you've got one scary duo. Now my Kamen Rider Jumbo is shaking in his boots.

Anyway, this is great for now, but some day I'll find one with the whiskers, and a box, and ...
