1999
Easily one of the most talked about
releases of the 1990s. The controversy was everywhere. Is it a reissue, is it a tribute to the original, was there ever an original*, why isn't it the same as the original, does the original even exist, I heard the original shot ping pong balls out of it's chest, why's it so short, why's it so tall, where the hell's an original, the original was a second version villian that came with color boxes, why'd they make the box like the first version villians

Matt Alt snapped this shot of a Garada Test Shot / Prototype while in Japan recently. Very cool.

that came with cardboard with one color printing boxes, if they went through all the trouble to make it so you can remove the sickles from his head how come they didn't bother putting holes in his hand so he could hold them, aaaarrggghhh!?

All the hoo haa aside this guy rules! Reissue or new release, i don't care. I love it. Uni5 has done the wolrd a great service by releasing this if for no other reason than that every jumbo collector can now afford to get a villan! He's made out of vinyl like the original villans and stands about 20'' to 22'' depending on if you measure to the top of his head or to the top of his sickles. Other than that, it's actualy kinda cute?

[Good News- Since this was originally written a photo of an original garada K7 has turned up proving it's existance! This shot is very blurry and bigfoot like, but if you want to see several crisp clean shots of it, guy buy the new Gangu Jinsai. Bad News - Unifive has stopped all jumbo production. The guy in charge of the project was even fired. Sales just weren't good enough. Good News - Gangu Jinsai is releasing a special black color version of the Uni-five Garada, - I got one and it's BAD ASS! Photos soon. Hand painted and totally rules. More Good News: Dimond Comics is importing the left over jumbos, AND the Garadas which will be offered in an exclusive US only color scheme that matches the original production model!]
